After its founding in 1954, the company began as a labor-only steel-placing business. Working with companies like Ryerson and PDM Steel, Camblin Steel outperformed other rebar companies, placing done on time and on budget each and every time. Throughout the sixties and seventies, they shifted their rebar installation focus from midwestern Cold War missile silos to industrial and commercial products in the western United States. The quality steel fabricators established home offices in Sacramento, California, and the founders retired. The business continues today in the humble, family-run tradition in which it began, operated by the founders' two sons Nick and William, Jr.
