The late Nick and Doris Camblin founded the rebar company in 1954, beginning as a labor-only steel-placing business. Since then, Camblin Steel Service Inc. has grown into a full service company, becoming known nationally as a go-to group for big time outfits like Ryerson and PDM. Originally, only installation occurred under the Camblin umbrella, but now our experienced rebar cutters design, fabricate, test and install reinforcement bars for all types of commercial and industrial projects.
Throughout the sixties and seventies, the company continued to grow, shifting from rebar detailer projects on missile silos of the Cold War in Midwestern states like Kansas and Ohio to industrial and commercial projects in the Western United States, particularly in the Northern California/Nevada area.
The home offices were established in the Sacramento area, and Nick Senior retired in 1986. Since then, Camblin Steel has continued as a family-run business, owned and operated by his two sons, Nick Junior and William. The company employs experienced designers, rebar cutters, fabricators and more, maintaining a steadfast commitment to integrity and to getting the job done right.
The design phase may be the most important part of the Camblin process. We use our computer run Soule software, our rebar detailer providing clients with bar lists and shop drawings to accompany all plans.
