Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours of operation?   Monday thru Friday 7:00am-4:00pm

Does Camblin Steel install rebar? Yes! In fact, this is primarily what we do. Although most caissons and cages are delivered to your jobsite FOB tied and stockpiled, and although we can stockpile rebar at your jobsite for you to tie, because of our fifty plus years of experience in the industry, most contractors find that using our services saves them time, headaches, frustration and of course money and avoids any costly job delays.
What kind of rebar do you use?  All of our rebar is domestic and conforms to either ASTM A615 Grade 60 or ASTM A706. Upon request we can provide epoxy coated, smooth round and fiberglass rebar. These special request items are not typically in stock in large quantities and additional lead time may be required.
What sizes of rebar do you provide? #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, #14 & #18.
How far will you travel for a job? We place rebar all over Northern California as far north as the Oregon border, out to the coast and as far south as Modesto. We also do placing in Nevada.
What sizes of cages do you build? All of our cages are built to your specifications. We can build any size cage.
What other rebar related accessories do you carry? We carry all sizes of concrete dobies & plastic chairs. We also have welded wire mesh & tie wire.
I would like to get a quote on a project. What do I need to do? Send us a copy of your drawings and we will get an estimate to you right away. You can email drawings to us for a faster return or even bring them to our office.
The project requires an independent testing lab to test the bars. Is this a problem? Not at all! Throughout the years we have worked with most independent testing labs and we know how to expedite this process allowing you to be more efficient. Mill certificates are sent to the jobsite with your steel.
Why can’t I get my rebar shop drawings and submittals at the same time as the rest of the required submittals from the subcontractors of other trades? Reinforcement detailing is different than any other discipline requiring submittals because everything that we do in preparing submittals is dependent upon knowing all of the “unknowns” of the other trades that are usually sorted out during their submittal process. A detailed explanation written by Dick Birley can be found here.
How much turn-around time do I need to ensure that my rebar arrives to the job site when I need it? We have one of the fastest turn-around times in the industry. Upon approval of the shop drawings and submittals, a phone call to the detailer that worked on your project 3-4 business days prior to your desired delivery and installation date will ensure that you get the bars when you need them and will avoid job delays. The 3-4 business days gives us time to release bars to our shop, get mill certifications and lab tests, fabricate the steel to your specifications, load it on trucks and ensure we will have the available man power to place the bars on your project. A failure to give us the required 3-4 business days will result in our inability to guarantee delivery when you want it.
